Why did you choose to “Go Mixte?”: I’m passionate about advancing equity through story-telling. My career in public relations had actually begun with a firm that worked alongside non-profits. I had fallen in love with the non-profit industry and the gift of partnering with an organization to amplify their mission and values. So I knew that when it was time to take the next steps in my career, those were exactly the type of clients that I wanted to continue partnering with.

When I found out Mixte was hiring, it was like the pieces fell into place. I applied almost immediately.

I was encouraged to learn how much Mixte valued diversity on the team. As a member of the transgender community myself, finding a place where I could feel comfortable bringing my whole self to work was at the top of my list. Already, even in my short time here, I’ve appreciated learning and growing from the experiences of my team and our clients.

I’m working on a science fiction/fantasy novel (if I tell you, that’ll keep me accountable for actually finishing, right?). I’m also proud to serve on the City of Salem’s Human Rights Commission’s LGBTQIA + Intersectional Rights Task Force as a sitting member.
