Our office is located in the heart of Ocean Beach; a funky, definitive beach town.
Ocean Beach has its reputation — hyper-local, hippie town. That mistruth has made our neighborhood San Diego’s best kept secret.
This laid-back town should be pictured in Webster’s definition for “community.” Family-owned shops and homegrown stores with character line the streets and continue to thrive. Having a bake sale? Opening a new business? Selling art? Hosting a beach cleanup? Neighbor camaraderie and support: Guaranteed.
Our street is filled with a colorful collection of small businesses, antique stores and neighborhood bars owned by happy people who say hi to you on the sidewalk. You won’t catch Target or Walmart in this neighborhood.Of all the nooks and crannies in San Diego, Ocean Beach remains alive and well, true to itself on every corner, down every avenue and with every mural plastered on the sides of buildings. Here, a friendly, tight-knit community replaces the hustle and bustle of downtown, corporate shopping malls of Mission Valley and multi-story buildings in Sorrento Valley.
On my way to work everyday, I drive or bike down long streets into this jewel town. I dodge skateboarders and bikers, surfers running to the beach barefoot, neighbors catching up over the airplane sounds and small business owners, local coffee in hand, casually strolling to get their day started.
OB embodies Mixte’s culture. It is quirky. It is misunderstood. It is our home. And we like it that way.
