We Can Help You Fight!

'You're not alone' written behind headlines pulled about the impact nonprofits are enduring after funding freezes

Recent news (and executive orders) have many of us fighting to hold onto hope and momentum. For our nonprofit friends who challenge the status quo and fight for justice: You’re not alone.

As if existing fundraising challenges weren’t enough, we know you’re carrying out your mission in spite of political threats to freeze all federal funding and intimidate those who disagree with the Trump administration. Oh, and your team is burned out. Whew.

Times like these are exactly why Mixte exists. We’ve been here before, and we’ve only gotten stronger since Trump’s first term. When you must adapt to protect your community and preserve your mission, we’re there to help.

Find/Replace: Concern with creativity!

A #1 concern for our partners

Messaging is top of mind for many of our partners right now. Under a new federal administration that has moved to strip opponents’ funding and censored entire sections of the White House website, nonprofits are concerned about how their language might affect their survival.

Even when the stakes feel sky-high, there is always a way to adjust your messaging without weakening its impact, and while still pursuing justice for your community. Look to colleagues who’ve done this before, like the Appleseed Network.

Appleseed needed to craft effective messaging on criminal justice and policing reform that could work across state lines and the political aisle. Together, we figured out how to describe the same organizational goal — fight inequality, combat discrimination and advance a fairer criminal justice system — for distinct audiences with vastly different perceptions of the criminal justice system.
