Introduction

Nobody was prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic’s devastating impacts on families when their front-line caregivers weren’t able to support either themselves or working parents. For far too long this critical service was relegated to a “nice to have” and not given its proper due as an essential service. Enter Children First Collective San Diego (previously known as the ECE Advocacy Coalition). While elected leaders at all levels were figuring out how to make sense of the proper responses, Children First Collective stepped in, coming together with a clear set of asks to make sure childcare wasn’t forgotten in the sea of interests and obligations our public servants were prioritizing.

Our Objectives

Children First Collective is ready to turn hard work and results into a recognizable entity with a clear name and image. The path ahead to an equitable recovery for working families needs the coalition’s energy. Mixte understands the power-building goals they have, and is the right fit: expertly dialed into the their mission that, when mixed in with our branding chops, will produce an inspiring brand.

The Outcome

We turned the coalition’s working name into a forever brand, backed by a meaningful logo and an engaging landing page, while bringing different voices to a common decision, and creating an identity in which different organizations recognize themselves.
