Introduction

In 2012, the San Diego Youth Development Office was established to address slashed funding for youth services in the region. The plan was to become an office within the City of San Diego to coordinate collaboration for policy development and service provision. However, despite getting very close, the San Diego Youth Development Office never came to fruition in the City office. In 2019, the San Diego Youth Development Office hired new leadership and changed its name to Youth Will, a nonprofit organization that would now help youth directly shape the world they live in. The organization’s action-oriented name and logo were inspired by the belief that there should be no limitations to reaching one’s potential, and when given the opportunity, youth will.

Our Objectives

Youth Will needed a visual identity and digital presence to formally announce its brand-new vision for San Diego’s future. Mixte developed a brand identity and website to activate youth across San Diego County to advocate for the issues that matter most to them.

The Outcome

In June, 2021, after 15 years of work and advocacy, Youth Will won its campaign for the creation of an Office of Child & Youth Success! City of San Diego elected officials voted to fund the Office, and included it in the City Budget!
